Puschemullfoot
How did Pop spell this term of endearment?
Here are a few samples I found in Mom's treasures...
none of which were spelled correctly or the same way on different
dates!
Puttje-mul-fot:
Pop's My Happy 1942 Easter Dream
Putje mull foot:
Mom's 34th Birthday
Puttze mull foot:
A Mother's Day
Puttze mull foot:
on the envelope
What does it mean? Why did they use it for
each other?
It is "Plattdeutsch" (Pop's
native Northern German dialect)
A Puschemulfoot is a sweet and kind of klutzy person...
One who gets in her/his own way and is a bit forgetful.
"Eine Person die auf liebevolle
Weise ein bisschen "schusselig" ist. Per
Example ab und zu etwas vergißt, oder sich selbst manchmal
im Wege steht."
