This tour is such fun, folks join the club each year just to come along...

This is BCI's 18th classic ride down the flattest route we can find, from Irvine's Civic Center to Carlsbad in San Diego county... A Bicycle Tour down the coast leaving at 8AM Saturday from Irvine to Carlsbad; About 60 mile each day; overnight at the hotel, returning on Sunday. The route can be shortened for those who would like a shorter ride; Check in your bags on the truck between 7 & 8am; drive part of the route & find a place to park overnight to trim off as many of the the first miles you choose, start there & the main group will catch you before you make it all the way to Carlsbad. The strong hearted who love their centuries can ride past Carlsbad on PCH all the way up Torrey Pines Grade & return North to the hotel whenever they wish. Detailed route instructions, and good company make it fun and trouble free! Plan on finding your own snacks or lunch & breakfast on the route, but join in the group pool side dinner Saturday evening at the hotel in Carlsbad!  First get a room booked - Then sign up with BCI ! We can always add a dinner but you may not have a bed! (BCI Rate: $129 + tax including breakfast) Space is limited ... the Hotel will sell out... Make reservations before June 1st. All remaining rooms (if any) will be released after this date. Cost for the weekend including the SAG & Dinner is still only $25 The tour fees covers the direct costs of the tour, publicity, transportation of luggage, group dinner & a bicycle event with great people! UPDATE & REMINDERS: The Summer Solstice is at 4PM Friday Lodging: Reminder: Those with room mates ~ be sure & call hotel with names of both occupants (if last names are different) in case you arrive separately at the front desk. The hotel will not give out a room key unless the names of both occupants are in their records. The June 1st deadline has passed but if you call and a room is available - ask for the BCI Rate. If all full - try the Motel 6 next door If you need to back out, contact Tommie to transfer your room to another rider. If you need a room, contact Tommie to see if any are available! (949) 697-0778 Bill's is (714) 943-3678 ========= Several Folks are starting from San Clemente: Get your bags on the truck at CITY HALL & get signed in - then DRIVE to San Clemente & find a place to legally park overnight - then ride to Carls Jr to meet others & start the ride there together ========== CARRY ID (Drivers License & Emergency Contact!): No ID and the Marines can say no at the gate & you will have to ride the FREEWAY ========= SUNDAY Load Truck by 8 - then it will LEAVE! You will find the Truck at the Irvine Civic Center when you get back to Irvine UNTIL 3 PM - After that - your bags will be left in a pile in the parking lot... so DO NOT go home for a shower & a nap before you return to the truck!
